About Me

I’m a Cuban-American who grew up in Miami and lived in New York City, Hong Kong, Denmark, Los Angeles, and Chicago before returning to Miami and buying a home a few years ago.

I’m incredibly fortunate to have lived a fairytale childhood in a giant, loving immigrant family with two younger brothers, two loving parents, and dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins. My parents are blessed to be in good health and can’t wait to become abuelos (grandparents).

I was close to all four of my abuelos. Losing each grandparent felt like losing a part of me. I realized in that process that the most important thing in the world is family. I’m excited to share the tradition of family, which is one of life’s greatest blessings, as a father and perhaps one day as an abuelo.

 In school, I excelled in science and literature. I always loved to sing, which earned me a spot in an a cappella group at Yale. Education changed my life: It gave me a chosen family of friends, and it jump-started my career. I returned to Miami to start a TV network. Today, I’m a VP who develops new shows for a major streaming platform like Netflix.

Home Sweet Home

I’m fortunate to live in a spacious home built in the 1950s with a big yard and lots of memories.

My home is in a diverse neighborhood that boasts exceptional schools (including the University of Miami a few blocks away), a fire rescue station across the street, and a couple of A+ hospitals 5 minutes away. The community is supported by a rich culture encompassing museums, restaurants, and libraries. It’s also surrounded by nature’s beauty.

As a single parent, I plan to have a combination of family and high-quality child care at home as my second and third pair of helping hands.

About Elias

Elias is one of my godchildren and one of the first kids whom I have helped to raise in my adulthood.

We have endless amounts of fun and learning together. He and his single mom have taught me a great deal about myself and helped me clarify my own motivations to become a single parent someday soon. I'm very blessed to have him and his mom in my life! (Elias is the child in some of my photos.)
