About Us

Our love story began in NYC when max strolled into a mexican barbecue joint where stephane was bartending.

We hit it off instantly and Max left with Stephane’s card, but it wasn’t until a month later when fate intervened and we reconnected on OKCupid, which led to our first date: It was nine hours of silliness, endless conversation, and a few glasses of wine that ended with our first kiss. We both left that night knowing that this was the start of something truly special. 

Over the years we’ve been together, we have created an accepting space where anything and everything is open for discussion and we look forward to keeping this openness with our child. We want to maintain a space where our child can come to us and be able to share anything without fear of shame or judgment.

Home Sweet Home

we live in new jersey in a really sweet town.

We live in a single family home that we take immense pride in making a truly homey, welcoming space that all of our friends and family feel comfortable in. We have a lot of plants throughout the house that Stephane takes extra special care of, which really brings our home to life. 

Our favorite space is the living room where we have a big comfy couch where we share meals with friends, watch our favorite shows, and get to curl up next to the fireplace in the winter. We do get to experience all four seasons here in North Jersey, so we look forward to getting to jump in the big leaf piles in the fall, building snowmen in winter, explore the cherry blossoms that bloom in spring, and enjoy the ocean at the Jersey Shore in the summer with our child. We’re also involved in local advisory boards, so we love to participate in community events like the farmer’s market and celebrate our town’s annual pride celebration in the summer. 

We cannot wait to introduce our child to our sweet dog, Cooper!

He’s a 4 year old shitzu maltese who is a little ball of energy and joy who loves nothing more than playing fetch with his many different toys and curling up onto our laps when we’re snuggling up on the couch. He’s super fast and we like to think he’s a bit of a circus dog when he jumps over our legs whenever we play on the floor. Anyone who meets Cooper instantly falls in love with him and we can’t wait for him to fall in love with his little brother or sister.

Fun Facts About Us

Max

• I played viola throughout my childhood.

• Currently in the midst of learning French!

• I loved going to Lake Naomi in the Poconos as a kid and I hope to bring our child there as well.

• I can’t live without a little ice cream after dinner (preferably mocha chip or mint chocolate chip).

•  My favorite children books were by Eric Carle (The Very Hungry Caterpillar) - I always loved the illustrations.

• My dream job would be designing the art for a Broadway show that Stephane is starring in.

Stephane

• I am a Broadway performer!

• I founded a non-profit offering arts programming to special needs individuals.  

• I loved spending summers in Haiti with family.

• I’m fluent in French and Haitian Creole.

• I love pastries and desserts.

• I love to live like a local when traveling.

• Favorite crayon: Cerulean

We are very interested in having our adoption be as open as possible, but we’re also incredibly open to however involved or present you’d like to be. Our intention is to surround our child with endless amounts of love, and the act of you placing them in our care is such a massive part of that.
